Here's a novel concept for a game: a series of blocks of different shapes and sizes fall from the top of the screen and you must join them up to create lines that will then disappear.
Hang on a minute, no, that's not a novel concept at all. In fact, it's a concept that has been repeated again and again and again on the Pocket PC and other mobile devices. Smartfall is yet another one of these growing list of Tetris copycats and it doesn't really make any attempts to disguise itself.
Of course, we're all aware of the format of the game, and it's certainly just as fun as ever in Smartfall. What's more, you can choose from three difficulty levels, and choose the number of rows to start with.
The problem I have with Smartfall is in its failure to improve upon the original - the graphics are pretty uninspiring and the background are a little weird. There are no innovations either in terms of the gameplay.
However, if it's pure, no-frills Tetris-style action you love, then Smartfall will deliver.
